SmartCool x HK-AITRI launches passive temperature control+AI monitoring solution

Recently, SmartCool and Hong Kong Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (HK-AITRI) officially launched a cooperation between the institute and the enterprise, relying on the AI industry laboratory under the research institute to successfully launch a "passive low-carbon temperature control+intelligent monitoring" solution for elevator machine rooms. This solution achieves zero energy consumption cooling through the combination of coil and coating materials, and has been verified through high-temperature testing this summer. The temperature in the elevator machine room can be stably controlled within 40 ℃, meeting the upper limit of the national standard temperature requirement. It is expected to replace traditional air conditioning and solve the problem of high temperature in elevator machine rooms in summer

Tested this summer: no higher than 40 ℃, can replace air conditioning
The high temperature in the elevator machine room during summer has long been a pain point for the property industry. Traditional air conditioning cooling not only consumes high energy, but also faces challenges such as line renovation and complex construction when installing air conditioning in old computer rooms.
The combination scheme of coil and coating materials developed by Zhiliang adopts passive radiation cooling technology, which uses a dual mechanism of "high reflection+high emission" to block solar radiation heat from entering the computer room, while directly radiating the accumulated heat in the computer room to outer space, achieving zero energy consumption cooling.
According to the actual verification of the high temperature weather this summer, the temperature of the computer room implemented in this plan is within the upper limit range of the national standard temperature. This means that the solution effectively solves the problem of high temperatures in the computer room during summer without consuming electricity.

AI empowerment: Real time temperature monitoring intelligent agent online
On the basis of the material scheme, the AI Industry Laboratory of Hong Kong Artificial Intelligence Technology Development Research Institute has developed an intelligent agent scheme for real-time monitoring of computer room temperature for the project, which can provide value for multiple parties:
Elevator manufacturing factory: Obtain real temperature data from the machine room, optimize equipment design and factory standards;
Government regulatory agencies: Real time monitoring of temperature conditions in computer rooms during high temperature weather, supporting safety supervision and early warning;
Large property management units: remote visual monitoring, automatic alarm for abnormalities, significantly reducing inspection costs.

Overcoming landing difficulties: Real temperature measurement, over temperature alarm, remote visualization, low cost
During the implementation process of the plan, the team found that the real difficulty was not in the materials themselves, but in how to truly reflect the actual temperature of the computer room, alarm when it exceeded 40 ℃, remote visualization, and low cost.
The height of the computer room varies, and the lighting intensity and area size of the dozen or so floors and twenty or thirty floors are different - these are all objective factors. The core challenge lies in how to use low-cost methods to reflect the temperature of the computer room truthfully, accurately, and in real time, and automatically warn and remotely visualize when it exceeds the temperature limit?
Regarding this, HK-AITR AI Industry Laboratory proposes a systematic problem-solving approach:
1. Real temperature measurement: Reasonably arrange points to avoid a single sensor representing the overall environment, ensuring that the data reflects the true temperature of the computer room;
2. Overtemperature alarm: Set a threshold of 40 ℃, automatically trigger an alarm when exceeding the limit, and push it to the relevant responsible person;
3. Remote visualization: Build a lightweight monitoring platform that supports real-time viewing on both PC and mobile devices;
4. Low cost deployment: Adopting low-power sensors and wireless transmission solutions to reduce wiring modifications and lower deployment costs.

Collaboration model between enterprises and research institutes: Enterprises set problems, research institutes solve them
This project adopts a collaborative project model between the research institute and the enterprise, practicing the cooperative concept of "project-based, flexible, and win-win" of the research institute:
Enterprise proposal (SmartCool proposes temperature control and monitoring requirements for data centers) → Research institute solution (AI industry laboratory develops intelligent monitoring solutions) → Scenario validation (tested in high temperatures this summer) → Achievement sharing (forms replicable solutions)
Material verification: The combination of coil and coating has been tested this summer and can replace air conditioning. The temperature in the computer room is ≤ 40 ℃
AI empowerment: Real time temperature monitoring intelligent agent, serving factories, regulators, and property management
● Path connectivity: solving the four major difficulties of real temperature measurement, over temperature alarm, remote visualization, and low-cost deployment
● Reproducibility: The solution can be extended to various elevator machine room scenarios, forming standardized templates

Outlook: Assisting in the Green Upgrade of Existing Buildings
Both parties stated that they will continue to deepen cooperation in the future, promote passive temperature control and intelligent monitoring solutions for elevator machine rooms to more property scenarios, assist in the green upgrading of existing buildings, and inject new momentum into achieving China's "dual carbon" goals.
